An entertaining time is on the horizon for all lovers of Celtic song and dance. Don’t miss Nova Scotia’s first and only new trad Celtic festival is back…and that means it’s time to Re-Jig!
Mark Friday, October 19 in your calendars as the start of the New Trad Celtic Event of the year, Re-Jigged is A Celebration of New Celtic Music & Dance will turn Ochterloney Street in downtown Dartmouth into a veritable “Celtic Zone,” with events in three venues: Christ Church, First Baptist and Grace United Church halls.
This third annual festival offers its largest roster yet of music and dance workshops, while this year’s Gala Concert showcases some of the world’s leading innovators in new trad Celtic — including Mary Jane Lamond, Wendy MacIsaac, MacCrimmon’s Revenge and sean-nos step dance sensation Brian Cunningham from Connemara, Ireland. The always popular Late-Night Ceilidh tops off the day, where dance callers will have you swinging around the floor to the tunes of Re-Jigged headliners and instructors.
